Bonsai

It was kind of a trying day today and I got home and immediately sought refuge in my camera. I didn't know what to take pictures of, but I knew that would help take my mind off of things; what I didn't know was that I'd find a little piece of zen right in my house.

Feist

Tonight's photo comes a little late because I went to the Feist show at The Fine Line, which was superb. Unfortunately my batteries died early in the show, too early for me to get the settings perfect so the quality isn't mind blowing, but at least I captured some of it.

I was really surprised by how great of a show she put on. I expected wonderful music, of course, but I thought that it would be more chill and relaxed, and I was presently surprised when she came on stage and jumped around like a rockstar. I saw her at the Winnipeg Folk Festival this past summer, but there were a million people there and I was a long way away, so was never really able to partake in the whole community of the show.

Live music is one of the biggest reasons that I moved to Minneapolis and that's proving to be a great decision-maker.

Jump Shot

I've been photographing some high school basketball games lately, so if anyone has any tips on shooting in low-light, that would be great. I'm using a Fuji S7000, so at this time I don't have the possibility of using faster lenses, etc., which would obviously help.

Eye Macro

I always had kind of a phobia of photographing people, but that's starting to go away as I get more comfortable with taking photos in general, and I'm starting to love it. If you're in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area and are interested in doing some TFP shoots, feel free to send me an email (barefootphotos AT gmail DOT com) and I'd love to work together to come up with something fabulous.

Duck Underwater

I recently moved to St. Paul, MN and decided to walk around the Como Zoo one day. It was in the middle of winter, so there were very few people at the zoo, and it felt kind of surreal; as though you were visiting on the animals' day off.
